Sanki
A board-game app, not a social feed: play chess, ōgi and xiongqi on one 8×8 board, signed in with your Nostr key. Every move is a signed public event.
Web
Sanki is a game rather than a social client, and a good example of Nostr being used for more than posting. It plays three chess-family games on one shared 8×8 board: chess, ōgi (inspired by shogi) and xiongqi (inspired by xiangqi), in nine pairings. There’s no sign-up: your Nostr key is your identity, and every game is a chain of signed public events that anyone can check.
Key Features
- Three games, one board: chess, ōgi and xiongqi, plus cross-style pairings
- Nostr identity: log in with a browser extension (NIP-07) or a remote signer (NIP-46); no account to create
- Verifiable games: moves are published as signed events on public relays, using custom event kinds documented in an open protocol
- Puzzles and bots: practise alone as well as against other players
- Runs in the browser: nothing to install
Why Choose Sanki?
If you already have a Nostr key, Sanki is a quick way to see what “your key works everywhere” means outside a social feed. The game protocol is published in the public domain by its developer, Sashité.
